Fall is a photographer’s busiest season and for good reason. The weather is turning more temperate, the leaves are changing color, and all the holidays are starting up. If you haven’t already built out a system for managing your business, now is not the time to start.

Listen in to learn how you can manage your busiest season without a system.

First things first, you need to carve out time each day to handle your emails. You may feel like you have more work than you can handle in a year right now, but that won’t be the case if you don’t continue to focus on your client outreach and experience.

To make this process more manageable, only give out your work email to clients. Don’t give out your personal information. Make sure that you protect your personal bubble by keeping work confined within your boundaries.

Also, start using your reminder or task app on your phone. This isn’t the time to leave things to memory. Write it down, type it in, and make sure you’re getting actual reminders about all the important goings on in your life and business.

Consider this as well, what can you outsource in your life or business? Need your house to be cleaned? Now is the time to get the cleaner! Need a party planned? Now is the time to invest in a party planner. You cannot do all the things and be all the places. Find ways to outsource that fit your budget and your overall needs.

I’m sharing all the wisdom on how to run your business without systems, but next week I’m talking to the queen of creating well-rounded lives. Tune in to hear her thoughts and recommendations on the best ways to survive and thrive in this busy time.

In This Episode:

[03:24] The first thing you need to do is set time every day to handle your emails.

[04:38] I challenge you to stop giving your personal email or phone number to clients.

[06:07] Use the reminder app on your phone if you need to remember to do a task.

[08:17] I also want you to think about what you can outsource to allow yourself some extra time.

[13:09] Consider looking at your week ahead of time.

[17:01] I have a calendar on our refrigerator that shows my husband at a glance what is going on for the week.

[18:50] Thank you for listening!
