First things first, there is nothing wrong with asking for help. In fact, as your business grows, your family changes, and your life evolves, you’ll need more help than you could ever imagine. I talk about it all the time but I knew I had to dedicate an episode to learning to ask for help.
I’ve mentioned it a few times on the podcast, but one of the first things that I outsourced was house cleaning. We have a toddler, large dogs, and horses. We need to have a clean house, but as the business has grown, I’ve had less time and less desire to be the one that makes sure everything is spic and span.
Having that one day a week that I know the house will be spotless helps me manage one portion of my anxiety which is truly an amazing benefit.
Next I had to start outsourcing some of the tasks in my business. I knew that I needed help with the business, so I had to step out of my comfort zone and let go of some of the pieces. Plus, the business has grown more and more steadily as I step away from some of the pieces.
I’ve also started to address my mental health and knew that I’d need help in facing my baggage. General anxiety disorder has always been a part of my life, but it’s gotten worse and I needed to talk to someone. So I am!
Is the fear of asking for help worse than the benefits of receiving support? If your answer is no, then start reaching out!
