Our Story

I started out as a virtual assistant after having my son and realizing that the corporate world was not for me. I knew I wanted to have more time with my son and to feel like my work was making a difference. I took my experience and skills in sales, logistics, and systems and decided it was time to strike out on my own. 

My first client was a photographer and as I began to make small changes in her business I got to experience firsthand the impact I made on her life and her clients. We systemized services, her clients had a better experience, and she was able to spend more time with her family while trusting that her business was cared for. In working with her I found that I was passionate about creating freedom for photographers through systems and exceptional client experience. 

I worked with an array of clients but always resonated most with photographers. I love the art of photography, the stories my clients tell through images, and the milestones in life that they capture. I love coming alongside photographers and creating the space for them to capture those images, stories, and milestones without sacrificing their sanity or missing those same moments and milestones in their own lives. 

Now, we’re coming up on three years as Success Beyond the Lens. We have evolved into a business management and marketing solutions company designed with photographers and creatives in mind. I have helped multiple six-figure photographers manage and grow their businesses in a way that honors their values and personal time. I know the importance of checking the weather or miles for sessions, that clients will likely ask what to wear or what to expect, and that you need to have time to rest between sessions or events. The photography industry is different than any other, and that is something I take into account each time I meet with a new potential client.

However, I knew there were more photographers who could benefit from these services so I’ve spent 2020 growing the team. 

I work alongside our assistants to ensure we are serving our clients’ exceptionally. Whether we’re setting up your system, helping you manage day to day tasks, or creating a 60-day marketing campaign – we are the team you need to create more freedom in your life while growing your business.

The Professional CV: 

Jenn had a successful corporate career in transportation and logistics before deciding to enter the virtual world of online business management. As she began to build her business she realized that the clients she was drawn to most often were photographers. Having a love of photography, a knack for operations, customer experience, and leadership she knew it was time to niche and serve the people she loved: photographers. Now she’s taken her years in corporate and being a virtual assistant and has identified what services photographers need most. She and her team bring organization to the overwhelmed and systems to the scattered.

When she’s not putting together SOPs for your business you’ll find her with her family, out on their 7 acres in Kentucky, or curled up in bed with a hot cup of coffee and a good book.
